Nifty closed at 6761.25 down 21.5 points and Sensex closed at 22,631.60 down 56.45 points
The Nifty and the Sensex fell over 0.2% at the closing session on Monday on the absence of directional cues. Profit booking by funds and retail investors at higher levels amid forecast of below normal rains dampened the trading sentiment.
The Sensex closed at 22,631.60 down 56.45 points and The Nifty closed at 6761.25 down 21.5 points. Corporate earnings (Q4 & year end result) is increase the market movement, Profit booking also increase market price volatility.
BSE, sector indices, Capital goods sector, Metal sector, Auto sector and FMCG indices fell the most by 1.01%, 0.53%, 0.97% and 0.42%, respectively. Realty sector, Health care sector and Banking sector indices found investor’s support and were up 0.57%, 1.65% and 0.36%, respectively.
The Sensex Top gainers are Cipla, Dr Reddy, Sun Pharma, State Bank of India and Wipro, and the Top Losers are Gail India, BHEL, L&T, Tata Motors and Hero Motocorp.
